The K.E.E.A Municipal Education Directorate’s three-day residential training event for math and science teachers concluded today with a sense of accomplishment and inspiration. Held at the Archbishop Porter Girl’s Polytechnic in Elmina, the event was conducted by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and aimed to promote girls’ competency in math and science through gender-responsive pedagogy.
Throughout the training, educators learned various teaching techniques and strategies to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for their students. The event culminated with closing remarks from key stakeholders, including the Municipal Director of Education, Mercy Akua Lissar (Ms.), Municipal Training Officer Wilfred Boateng, and Municipal KOICA Focal Person Madam Grace Essumanba.
In her closing speech, Ms. Lissar expressed her gratitude to the participants for their dedication and active involvement in the workshops. She encouraged the teachers to take the knowledge and skills gained from the training back to their classrooms, where they can make a positive impact on their students’ educational journeys. She also emphasized the importance of sustaining the momentum and continuing to innovate teaching approaches to improve BECE results in the municipality.
Municipal Training Officer Wilfred Boateng echoed Ms. Lissar’s sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the training in empowering teachers to embrace new methods and techniques that will enhance students’ learning experiences.
He commended the teachers for their commitment to professional development of and their determination to uplift the academic performance of students in the region.
